US, Russia headed for showdown over Syria chemical weapons probe

breaking world news russia syria

(Worthy News) - Russia and the United States were on a collision course ahead of a UN Security Council vote Thursday on the fate of a UN-led probe to determine who is behind chemical attacks in Syria’s six-year war.

Washington and Moscow have put forward rival draft resolutions on renewing for a year the mandate of the Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), tasked with identifying perpetrators of Syria’s toxic gas attacks.

After negotiations failed to bridge differences, the rivals each called for a council vote on their draft resolutions on Thursday, hours before the JIM’s mandate expires at midnight. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More...) ]

  1. Yes, the U.S. WANTS to find proof of use of chemical weapons by the legal Syrian government so it can blame Assad and create an excuse for the Pentagon to convince President to finish off Assad.
But, Russia ... wants the truth. And the truth has already come out. The governments of Great Britain, Germany and Russia had already done their investigations and they all concluded that it was the Syrian rebels that used the gas ........ that they got through Turkey ......... from the U.S. embassy in Benghazi ........ thanks to Hillary Clinton .......... The Witch.
