(Worthy News) - A reinforcing shot of bitter, Arctic air will soon prolong the long-lived cold outbreak across the Plains, Midwest, South and East into the end of this week, likely shattering more daily records and sending wind chills to dangerously cold levels.

The first batch of Arctic air to arrive in the Lower 48 is currently gripping parts of the Midwest, South and East. This will be followed by another reinforcing shot of bitterly cold air during the latter half of the week ahead.

Wind chills 50 to 60 degrees below zero have been recorded in the Dakotas and northern Minnesota Saturday-Monday. The coldest wind chill observed was 58 degrees below zero in Hettinger, North Dakota, on Sunday morning. [ Source: The Weather Channel (Read More...) ]

  1. While in Alaska, the ice between Russia and Alaska has consistantly melted so much that Russia attempts to claim territorial waters ever closer to Alaska. The Polar bears die of starvation so much they've taken to hunting dogs and small children on land. Whole villages there now much patrol day and night to keep their kids and sled dogs safe (not a bad idea for them to learn the concepts of safety for their kids).

Since 2014 Anchorage Alaska days of winter with lower than freezing has dramatically dropped till only 2 of them in 2017.

Seems the Arctic has shifted. It's now in the northern contiguous USA and Canada but not leaving Alaska. The tundra in Alaska is so now not as much frozen that they fear the release of ancient bacteria. The Spanish flu may not be the only pandemic that gets released from all this while people living in northern US, under Canada, even into Florida (?) must now learn to have two sets of clothing each year, one set for summer and longies and hats, gloves, parka and boots for winter.

    It's a new lifestyle.
