Report Says UN Summit Seeks to Implement One-World Government

By Fred Jackson, AFR News, August 16, 2000

(AgapePress) – The United Nations Millennium Summit is set to get under way in a few weeks. Many Christians regard the agenda as an organizational meeting for a one-world government. The UN calls it the largest single gathering of heads of state ever held in the world.

A Canadian pro-family group which has been researching the agenda says the September summit in New York is “stacked with alarming proposals seeking to strip national autonomy and to ensure UN world governance.” According to Lifesite, the summit’s goals include positioning the UN to oversee all international agencies, financial institutions, human rights–including abortion–and education.

It says summit organizers also want to establish a permanent UN standing army, strengthen the European-based International Court, and implement global taxation to fund the UN.

The report says one of the key goals of summit organizers will be to have the heads of state sign on to a 25-pack of UN treaties, which Lifesite says contains some of the most notorious anti-life, anti-family proposals.
