(Worthy News) - Christian ministry Prison Fellowship has praised President Donald Trump for designating April 2018 "Second Chance Month." A little more than a week ago, the group's CEO had expressed concerns over Trump's plan to impose the death penalty on drug traffickers when it is appropriate to do so under current law.

James Ackerman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the ministry, which serves prisoners, former prisoners and their families, called it a "bold move," saying it will help Prison Fellowship and more than 135 organizations "fight for those who have paid their debt to society."

"The President is right to stand up for those who continue to face tens of thousands of barriers to education, jobs, housing and the things they need to lead a full and productive life," he said in a statement. "We are fighting for those 65 million Americans with criminal records—one in four adults—who wish to regain their dignity and make important contributions to society." 1. We, who bear the Name of God, Most High, and His Son, Y'shua (Jesus), are called to daily walk with Messiah (Christ). In doing so, every Christian, every Messianic, every Nazarene, is told to become more like him (Messiah/Christ).

God not only forgives, He forgets. If you haven't heard that before, it's a fact. We, too, are to forget the sin, not just forgive. Look it up. We are required, when we forgive as Christ did, to forget the sin also; that is, the deed or omission (for many sins are of omission).

When we can't or don't forget the sin or sins committed by those who also are to forget, we trip not only them up (by holding them back) we trip ourselves up also. If there ever was proof that the USA is no longer a Christian country, it is in the way we do not let people adjudicated (convicted in courts) actually settle up their account by time served.

If they need to stay in jail longer to fully "pay their debt to society" then that is our faults for not changing the law so the requirement is different. Or the fault of Parole Boards, who are accountable to those citizens and legal voters that allow them on those boards.

What man or woman, non-binary person, etc. has nothing in their pasts that they do not want discovered for the latest news headline? "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

If some need to have their names on some lifelong predator Registry, okay. Then, likewise, make a place (again) for them when they have paid their time and separation.

One of the main reasons for the Roman Catholic Churches predator priests scandals, worldwide, is that same church's practice of "treating" sexual predators in their midst to Psychologists to control such evil behavior. It's not the only evil behavior in the world. So, why is that particular one supposedly one of the few that 'can not be cured"?

Because, like most major sins, it takes an act of God to free the sinner from his/her/their sin. To obtain that "act of God" the sinner must seek God for the answer.

The answer was given long ago.

His Name (in English) is Jesus, the Christ.

He lives. He rose from that grave. His shed blood is the fulfillment of Pesach (Passover).

In an age of Internet, it is hard not to know what all that means.
