DC Comics Turns Jesus Into a New Superhero – But There's a Big Problem

(Worthy News) - DC Comics has a new superhero and His name is Jesus.

DC Vertigo will star Christ Himself in an upcoming comic series called Second Coming, which features Jesus returning to earth on a mission to "set the gospel straight," the plot summary reads. The series, written by Mark Russell and illustrated by Richard Pace, will debut in March 2019.

But Second Coming is closer to blasphemous than biblical. Instead of a biblical account of Christ's return, it depicts Jesus as a failure who disappointed God by getting crucified when he first walked the earth. He is sent back to learn how to be a real Messiah by learning from the superhero "Sun-Man." [ Source: CBN News (Read More...) ]

  1. It reveals to Christians the spirit of this age. That's why it's so abhorrent when "churches" bow and scrape before the secular world in the hopes of being accepted. So many are apologizing for Jesus. It's shameful.

  2. Given that Jesus has already been a recurring character on both South Park and Family Guy this is hardly news. The best thing Christian can do is to probably ignore it. The more attention it gets the more interest it creates.

  3. A

    Jude 1:3-4, "Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. 4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ." (NASB)
    Actually, it is news. It is extremely important news. First, DC Comics has already done "Lucifer," and he gets a last name (and a very American middle name too) in that abomination, it is Morningstar. He's had his own Warner Bros. TV Show for quite some time now. Netflix just picked up "Lucifer"s Season 4. And it's an interesting twist on the biblical story of Satan as well as a few of his closest "friends." Seeing as how the real Lucifer is (as the real Jesus said) "the father of lies," it's not surprising that version is an oft compelling story to watch. Because they mix in some biblical facts with such fantastic lies. Kids love it and adults too. Watered down Satanism, what could go wrong? Well, maybe it's a corrupted version of our Savior. Just like Mohammed did. And Joseph Smith did. And (too often) Christian Psychology does also.

    In it, "Lucifer" is portrayed as having had a bad relationship with his father. Lucifer's mother comes to visit, and hangs around for one whole season of stories. She too was "betrayed" by her husband. "Satan" is portrayed as having gotten a raw deal from his Dad (God, the Father) which is just the same old stuff (lies) of basic Satanism.

    It really is time to call all the Superheros what they really are, gods, and goddesses. So then, it was only a natural progression that DC Comics would bring in a (false) "Jesus" to all this they've laid a (satanic) foundation for. It's called Propoganda, what they've been doing unhindered, adding in some lovable stories to the truth about the prince of darkness, and now the missing part, "what about Jesus?" DC Comics has just been waiting to tell that story, their own way, for the "right" (evil) time. This is the foretold time where up is down and right is called wrong. Why even pay attention to the evil regimes outside of the USA, when this stuff goes on and it's consequences proliferate, at home.

    The gospel (good news) their Jesus will be selling (don't forget this stuff they do is to make money) will surely be a false and twisted one. It will fit carefully into the new and improved story of Satan/Lucifer. They had to improve it, without sugar in that rat poisen, who would eat it? But it doesn't stop there. After that, and maybe another generation of US idiocy, it sets the stage to fit with Islam's version of their Isa, their own personal "Jesus" too. Catholics will have to let go of strict adherence to their biblical Jesus story too, and then, the Mahdi goes front and center. Islam predicts the return of Jesus too you know, in their version he comes back to enlighten all the Christian and Jews (left) that they've had it wrong all along. Wanna guess what the DC Jesus is going to say? I'll tell you. He's going to say that Christians and Jews (and lots of others) have had it wrong about Jesus all along.

    Already DC versions fight with the good sense brains full of these lies once had. It will take "God only knows" multitudes of young people, the world over, straight to hell. Who needs insidious Dungeons and Dragons anymore? Where are the Christian leaders yelling out "danger, danger, danger." There are only two other light comments to the posting of this news here.

    What your average Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, (new age) Prophet, or Apostle, rarely gets around to telling newbies (or oldies, for that matter) in The Faith ("once delivered to the saints") is that there are a whole load of "Jesus" out there. And since we're at it here, ask yourself, "Which Jesus do (you) have?"
    Because it matters. It's the crux of the issue. When Jesus do you have. The Right One? Read a red letter NT, see if that's the one you got. Your very soul matters.

    This corrupting of the story of Jesus (Y'shua, in Hebrew/Aramaic) is as old as his death and Resurrection was. It's one and the same concept as "Do you have the One True God?' Just because Allah uses (to his great advantage) one and the same phrase for himself doesn't make it true. People belonging to The Church of the Nazarene International call themselves "Nazarenes" but only a tiny fraction of them really are Nazarenes, and usually, those real ones know better than to meet inside any "church" building, or on Sundays.

    It is for this reason that it is advantageous to learn to use the real name for the one and only Christ, the Messiah, come/sent from the Holy One of Israel, our Lord and (only) Saviour. That would be Y'shua (or some variation of that such as Yehoshua, the long form, also spelling is not so important in Hebrew), as his parents, siblings, apostles and original disciples would have called him. There was no J sound in the languages of the middle east back then. Even Hebrew didn't have a J sound init until about 500 years ago. "Jesus" is the English name of the "Son of David" the "son of man" the Word of God come in the flesh, the "Lamb of God" as John the Baptizer called/identified him as. He has quite a few names, as do many people, in many traditions, around the world, have. As does his Father, the Ancient of Days.

    It is such a very small jump from TV Show to one of these DC Comic characters making a (dressed up human) appearance somewhere like Ronald McDonald does periodically at your local McDs. At what point will Christians separate themselves from this stuff. Unless we are a separate people (from evil), we have no holiness. One care barely be righteous in the face of such things. And that, only by a miracle (come to us, as the real Jesus).

    Proverbs 8:17, “I love those who love me;
    And those who diligently seek me will find me" (NASB)
