(Worthy News) - At least 290 people were killed in a series of bomb blasts that tore through churches and luxury hotels in Sri Lanka, in the worst violence to hit the island since its devastating civil war ended a decade ago.

Eight apparently coordinated explosions targeted Easter worshipers and high end hotels popular with international guests.

The horrific death toll, which has risen dramatically overnight, was given on Monday morning by a police spokesman, who said a further 500 people had been wounded. [ Source: Times of Israel (Read More...) ]

  1. Because...? Those (mostly) Catholics just could not keep from attending Church on Ishtar (Easter)? They were expecting their enemies to do something different on Easter and Christmas?

Honestly, God will hold their leaders accountable for teaching the parents to take their little children into places so unsafe as this. What day did their leaders believe would be more dangerous to attend church?

Christ died for human beings, to redeem mankind. Not to save churches.

  2. God Most High should comfort the affected family and peace of God should rule and reign in Sri Lanka. All the wicked must bring to justice

  3. Angela,

Just because Christ died to redeem people not churches is no reason to blame the victims of this cruel atrocity.

  4. Islam .... it's all Islam. There've been over 800 church bombings worldwide in the last 2 years. The vast majority were done by muslims. Islam is AT WAR with the world, yes ...... but it's MOST AT WAR with Christians and Christ. The End is near. The End of Satan and his Islam.
