Arab League to hold emergency meeting over Turkish offensive into Syria


(Worthy News) – The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday, it said in a statement, following a call by Egypt for the body to meet over Turkey’s offensive into Syria.

Egypt’s foreign ministry, in a statement on Wednesday, “condemned in the strongest terms the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory,” saying the offensive “represents a blatant and unacceptable attack on the sovereignty of a brotherly Arab state.”

Turkey launched a military operation against Kurdish fighters in northeast Syria on Wednesday just days after U.S. troops pulled back from the area. [ Source: Jerusalem Post (Read More…) ]
