Trump seeking US military intervention against Mexico’s drug cartels

(Worthy News) – US President Trump is eyeing a wider campaign against Mexico’s drug cartels.

Besides planning to designate the cartels as a terrorist organization, Trump reportedly offered Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to “go in and clean out” the drug runners.

“I’ve already offered him to let us go in and clean it out and he so far has rejected the offer but at some point something has to be done,” Trump told conservative media figure Bill O’Reilly Tuesday.

The move comes in response to the murders of 9 US citizens–3 women and 6 children–in a northern area of Mexico by the cartels on November 4.

Under the new designation, members of the cartels would be deported from the US, disbarred from entering, and all financial institutions transacting with the cells would be required to immediately stem their flow of funds to the organizations and notify the US Treasury Department.
