(Worthy News) – Hong Kong Christian leaders are coming under fire for their involvement in protests, with many receiving threatening messages that reflect a disturbing amount of surveillance.
Dr. John Chan of the Alliance Bible Seminary says that he received a message that read: “All of the members of your family will die; your limbs will be chopped off.”
Besides the crass threats, Chan said often the messages reflect a disturbing knowledge of the personal life of the recipients, including the names of sisters and their preaching schedule.
A record 4.1 million people turned out to vote in Hong Kong district elections over the weekend as China becomes increasingly irate over perceived US involvement.
