(Worthy News) – A 14-year-old Christian girl kidnapped from her school in Pakistan in January as been restored to her family, but not before receiving severe beatings and being raped by her captors, who are still threatening her family.

Sneha was dragged into a van driven by a Muslim man as she was leaving her school in Bahar Colony in Lahore, Pakistan on Jan. 14 and consequently beaten by six Muslim boys, who tried to force her to sign a document certifying her conversion to Islam and marriage to one of the men.

“Unfortunately the Pakistani government has failed to take action to stop the forced conversion of underage Christian, Hindu and other minority girls,” said Nasir Saeed, director of the Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS) interdenominational advocacy group.

Sneha was returned to her family five days later by law enforcement officers after having refused to sign the blank documents, but the kidnappers are now pressuring her family to withdraw their legal case against the abduction.

Pakistan ranks fifth on Open Doors USA’s World Watch List for Christian persecution, mainly for the abductions, forced marriages, and forced conversions of Christian and Hindu girls by Muslim men, as well as easily manipulated blasphemy laws that forbid insult to Islam.
