(Worthy News) – Islamic terrorists Boko Haram slaughtered 10 civilians and kidnapped seven others on July 31 in the Lake Chad region near the border of Nigeria, Niger, and Cameroon, Persecution.org reports.

An army officer and local official reportedly stated that Boko Haram terrorists invaded Tenana village and murdered two women and eight men around 3 am on July 31, Persecution.org said. The invaders also abducted seven men and looted and burned the village before leaving.

Persecution.org says local prefect Yacoub Mahamat Seitchimi confirmed the attack and, referring to Boko Haram recruitment from the area, said: “[The terrorists] are the disgruntled local children who prey on their own parents.”

Since its inception in northeast Nigeria in 2009, Boko Haram has slaughtered more than 36,000 people and displaced over two million civilians from their homes. The terrorists have also taken their insurgency to Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.

After Boko Haram killed 98 of Chad’s armed soldiers at their base at Bohoma by Lake Chad, President Idriss Déby Itno responded with military force from March 31 to April 3 and said “not a single jihadist left in the Lake Chad region.” Nevertheless, Boko Haram attacked an army vehicle and murdered eight Chad troops last month, Persecution.org reports.
