(Worthy News) – The Boko Haram Islamic terrorist group sent a young girl to murder 12 farmers in a “suicide” attack in the Mayo Tsanaga area of Northern Cameroon on January 8, 2021, International Christian Persecution (ICC) reports.

The girl had been put into an explosive vest and was hidden among the residents of Mozogo village placed under siege by Boko Haram.

Having lost much of its influence in 2016 and 2017, Boko Haram has been growing again, terrorizing the peoples of Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon – all countries close to the Lake Chad region of West Africa, ICC reports. The four countries have been working together to combat the spread of Boko Haram, but have not been able to crush it so far.

On January 8, the young girl exploded her suicide vest in the middle of a crowded park in Mozogo. Boko Haram militants had first entered the village, shooting in the area and causing many locals to flee to the park for safety, ICC said.

Once the park was full of people, the girl blew herself up and killed 12 villagers. The girl herself and one militant were also killed in the blast.

ICC said it is not clear if the girl had voluntarily taken her life, or whether she was one of hundreds of people kidnapped and forced into such actions by the terrorists.
