(Worthy News) – A new survey by Rasmussen Reports shows that 59% of US voters believe that social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are edited in a politically biased manner, CNS News reports. The poll also showed that 26% of US voters believe social media companies edit content in a fair and balanced way, while 15% are not sure.

The survey of 850 voters was conducted on May 5-6, 2021, and participants were asked two questions. The first question asked was: “Do the operators of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter edit their content in a fair and balanced way, or are they politically biased in the decisions they make?”

The poll showed that 60% of men, 57% of women, 74% of conservatives, 52% of moderates (52%), 62% of whites, 52% of blacks (52%), 60% of other races (60%) and all income groups believe the editing on these social media platforms is politically biased.

In terms of age, 50% of voters under 40 years old believe social media content is politically biased, while 64% of those aged 40-64, and 63% of those aged 65 and older believe this is to be true.

The participants were also asked whether they oppose or are in favor of Facebook’s decision to permanently ban former President Donald Trump from its platform, CNS News reports. To this question, 48% of voters said they are against the decision while 41% are in favor of it. Ten percent of US voters said they are “not sure” about the ban.
