(Worthy News) – In the latest act of violent persecution against Christians in Uganda, Islamic extremists burned a pastor to death on June 30, leaving a note by his remains saying: ‘Your enmity to Islam is what you have reaped,’ Morning Star News reports.

A former Muslim who gave his life to Christ in 2017, Pastor Isima Kimbugwe died when the murderers set fire to his home in Buseta village, Kibuku District at about 10.30 pm, MSN reports. The pastor is survived by his wife and two children, aged 10 and 17.

On the evening of the murder, Pastor Kimbugwe had dinner at the house of his brother Geoffrey Kadogo at around 9 pm, and then returned to home, about 200 meters away. “By 10:30 we saw flames of fire and smoke from his house. Arriving at the scene, the house was completely burnt up, and nearby was a small steel jerry can, a cap and Koranic notes,” Kadogo told MSN. The notes read: ‘Your enmity to Islam is what you have reaped.’”

According to Kadogo, local Muslims had repeatedly warned his brother not to share the Gospel, but he had continued to lead people to Christ. “This led to this atrocious act,” Kadogo said.

Kituti police are investigating the crime and have identified three suspects, MSN said.
