(Worthy News) – Three major conservative Christian organizations filed suit in the US Supreme Court Saturday, urging the Justices to block a Biden administration COVID-19 vaccination mandate that requires all companies with 100 or more employees to ensure all their staff are vaccinated or take regular tests. The plaintiffs assert there will be a “constitutional crisis” if the Supreme Court does not act.

Represented by conservative legal group First Liberty Institute, the plaintiffs are the American Family Association, Answers in Genesis, and the Daystar Television Network.

The litigation arises because, although the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the mandate in November, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals removed that block on Friday. The mandate would be implemented by the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

In a statement about the lawsuit, FLI President Kelly Shackelford said: “The Sixth Circuit panel’s decision to end the stay is outrageous and endangers the freedom of all Americans… Our clients simply cannot comply with a government mandate that forces them to violate the conscience rights of their employees. The Supreme Court must act, or there will be a Constitutional crisis.”

Commenting on the Sixth Circuit Court’s decision to remove the block, the Labor Department said in a statement: “OSHA can now once again implement this vital workplace health standard, which will protect the health of workers by mitigating the spread of the unprecedented virus in the workplace.
