(Worthy News) – Islamic terrorists struck in Nigeria’s Kaduna state yet again on Sunday, attacking a Christian community and murdering 25 churchgoers just after the end of a worship service, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.

Nigeria’s Middle Belt, including Kaduna, has been plagued by deeply embedded Islamic insurgents since 2015. The militants are predominantly Fulani extremist herdsmen or members of the Boko Haram and Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terror groups. Led by Fulani President Muhummadu Buhari, the Nigerian government has done little to stop the incessant murders and kidnappings of many thousands of Christians in the country, as well as the displacement of millions.

Sunday’s attack took place between 7-10 pm, in the heavily Christian Agban Kagoro district. A witness told ICC “Twenty-five people were killed and over 100 houses burnt.” The Nigerian army did not intervene, the witness said.

Another ICC source communicated during the attack: “Please pray for Kagoro right now. Militant herdsmen have entered Kagoro near the seminary, killing and burning the houses. Even the soldiers have run away because the attackers’ guns are superior to theirs. We are very much concerned for Kagoro, the center of Christianity in Southern Kaduna.”

In addition to the dead, the attack resulted in eleven people being hospitalized for gunshot wounds, with one person in critical condition, ICC said.

Nigeria ranked number one in the world last year for the number of Christians (4,650) murdered by Islamic militants.
