(Worthy News) – As the relentless slaughter and kidnapping of Nigerian Christians continues unchecked, Fulani Muslim militants in Nigeria’s Kaduna state murdered an estimated 50 people and abducted 100 more in attacks on Christian communities on March 24, Christian Today reports.

Nigeria’s Christian communities are repeatedly attacked by Islamic terrorists including Fulani herdsmen, ISIS West Africa, and Boko Haram; many thousands of believers have been killed. Rights groups including International Christian Concern, Genocide Watch, and the US Commission on International Religious Freedom have been warning of a Christian genocide, but neither the Nigerian government nor the international community has taken action to stop it.

The March 24 attacks took place late at night on 10 predominantly Christian communities in Kaduna’s Giwa County, Christian Today reports. In addition to carrying out the murders and abductions, the attackers burned homes, stores, and a church, and killed animals.

In a text message to Morning Star News, local resident Nuhu Musa said: “These attacks continued and lasted up to the morning of Friday, 25 March. They didn’t even allow the dead bodies to be buried, as they shot at mourners and those who returned to the villages to conduct funerals for those killed.”

Concerning those who were abducted, a spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Zaria issued a statement requesting prayer: “Please kindly pray for the safe release of Rev. Fr. Felix Fidson Zakari, a priest of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Zangon Tama, under the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, who was kidnapped after armed herdsmen and terrorists attacked Zangon Tama.”

Nigeria ranked number one in the world last year for both the number of Christians murdered and the number of believers abducted by Islamic extremists on account of their faith.
