(Worthy News) – US congregations prepared to face angry protests at the weekend after vandals defaced a Catholic church in Colorado and pro-choice activists called for demonstrations at churches on Mother’s Days, CBN News reports.

Widespread protests were sparked following last week’s leaked US Supreme Court draft opinion in support of reversing the 1973 Roe v Wade ruling which legalized abortion up to viability.

In the aftermath of the leaked Supreme Court opinion, a pro-choice group called Ruth Sent Us called for demonstrations protest at Catholic churches across the country over the Mother’s Day Weekend, Yahoo News reports.

“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice,’ ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the Ruth Sent Us group posted on social media last week. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8.

Nevertheless, Christians prepared to meet protestors in love. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, senior pastor at New Season Christian Worship Center in Sacramento, CA told Fox News Digital: “Protest and disruptions to churches by pro-abortion advocates on Mother’s Day will result” in several things. “Protesters filled with anger will be met by worshippers filled with love,” he said. “Disrupters attempting to cause harm will be met by people of faith committed to saving lives.”
