(Worthy News) – Iran’s Islamic extremist regime on Monday threatened revenge against Israel if investigators confirm Israeli involvement in Saturday’s drone attack on a weapons facility in the Iranian city of Isfahan, the Times of Israel (TOI) reports.

On Sunday, Israel’s Channel 12 news said in an unsourced report that the Isfahan site was understood to be a production facility for manufacturing Iran’s deadly Shahed-136 drones and that the attack on Saturday was the result of high-quality intelligence, TOI reports. In any event, it is known that Iran’s Shahab medium-range missiles are assembled at the Isfahan facility and that these missiles can reach Israel.

While Israel has not confirmed its involvement, a senior US official told the New York Times on Sunday that the Mossad intelligence agency had orchestrated the attack to protect Israeli security interests.

In a statement to the Al Jazeera media outlet, an unnamed Iranian official said Tehran believes Israel was behind the drone attack and that the regime would retaliate if its suspicion were confirmed.“The first indications point to Israeli involvement in the attack on Isfahan, but the investigation must continue,” the official said.

“Israel knows very well that it will receive a response, as happened in the past,” the Al Jazeera source continued. “Those who play with fire are the first to get burned if they decide to start a regional war,” the official said.
