(Worthy News) – Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ Quds Force, Esmail Qaani, arrived in Beirut on Wednesday for a meeting with Hassan Nasrallah, head of the Lebanese Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group, i24News reports.

Both the Iranian Islamic regime and the Shiite Muslim Hezbollah group are sworn enemies of Israel, i24News notes. The Quds Force has notoriously conducted Middle Eastern operations helping proxies that are enemies of Israel, especially Hezbollah.

While tensions between Israel and Hezbollah simmer constantly, the Islamic terror group has recently upped the ante by provoking IDF troops patrolling Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, i24News reports.

Responding to the provocations, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a statement Tuesday that Israel would send Lebanon “back to the stone age” if Hezbollah starts a new round of war.

“I warn Hezbollah, Nasrallah – not to make a mistake,” Gallant said. “You have made mistakes in the past, you have paid very heavy prices. If, God forbid, an escalation or conflict develops here, we will return Lebanon to the Stone Age. We will not hesitate to use all our power, and wear down every inch of Hezbollah and Lebanon if we have to,”
