(Worthy News) – Hundreds of Pro-Palestinian protesters called for a Gaza cease-fire and obstructed traffic at the Port of Tacoma on Monday, coinciding supposedly with the arrival of a military supply ship, the Cape Orlando, the Associated Press reported.

The organizers’ protest was against the Israel-Hamas conflict, as they believed the ship was carrying weapons intended for Israel based on confidential information.

These allegations could not be immediately verified. In an email statement to the Associated Press, Air Force Lt. Col. Bryon J. McGarry, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, affirmed that the ship is under the authority of the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command and is facilitating the transportation of U.S. military cargo.

“Due to operations security, DoD does not provide transit or movement details or information regarding the cargo embarked on vessels of this kind,” McGarry said.

Approximately 200 protesters continued their presence at the Port of Tacoma through the morning. Some of them held signs with messages like “No Aid For Israel” and “Free All Palestinian Prisoners.”

Officer Shelbie Boyd, a representative from the Tacoma Police Department, confirmed that no arrests have been made.
