(Worthy News) – Israel’s intelligence services are preparing to assassinate Hamas leaders globally after the war in the Gaza Strip has ended, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported.

Under the directives of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s intelligence agencies are formulating plans to locate and assassinate Hamas leaders residing in Lebanon, Turkey, and Qatar, according to WSJ.

For years, countries such as Qatar, Lebanon, Iran, Russia, and Turkey have provided a degree of protection to Hamas, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. For diplomatic reasons, Israel refrained from carrying out assassinations in these countries. However, this approach seems to have shifted with the recent orders issued by the Israeli Prime Minister.

Netanyahu conveyed his directives on November 22 during a nationwide address, much to the dismay of some Israeli officials who had preferred to keep the latest plans shrouded in mystery.  “I have instructed the Mossad to act against the heads of Hamas wherever they are,” Netanyahu stated.
