(Worthy News) – A new report shows that US pro-life pregnancy centers provided an estimated massive $358,725,517 million in goods and services last year to help financially vulnerable women continue their pregnancies instead of having an abortion, the Washington Times reports.

The report highlights a record increase in assistance given since the US Supreme Court reversed Roe v Wade and withdrew the federal right to abortion through its ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case in June last year.

Prepared by the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, the report also recorded 16,050,312 virtual and in-person meetings with pregnant women, including 974,965 new clients.

The report shows that the assistance given included ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, parenting classes, diapers, wipes, baby clothing, baby formula, strollers, and cribs, the Times reports. The $358.7 million worth of goods and services provided last year represents a $92 million increase from the previous estimated record of $266,764,916 given in 2019.

In a statement to the Washington Times, Susan Gallucci, executive director of the Northwest Center, a Washington DC-based member of the Heartbeat International network, said: “We want to let women know that it’s possible for them to continue their pregnancy if they choose, that we’re here to provide emotional and material support. We can’t take care of every expense, but we can help to ease some of that burden.”
