(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the successful dismantlement of Hamas’s military infrastructure in the northern region of the Gaza Strip over the past weekend. Following this operation, they have initiated the withdrawal of thousands of their troops from the northern areas of Gaza and continue to “intensify and continue” its military operation in the southern Gaza Strip.

“We have completed the dismantling of Hamas’ frameworks in the north of the Gaza Strip, and we will continue to deepen the achievement and strengthen the barrier and the defense elements at the border,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Hagari said over the weekend.

According to a statement from the Defense Ministry, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant addressed the “changes in combat tactics in the northern area of the Gaza Strip.”

On Tuesday, The Washington Post quoted an unidentified senior U.S. official, who stated that Israel has already carried out the withdrawal of several thousand troops from the northern part of Gaza. This move represents “a significant drawdown” of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

“We are determined to complete the war goals and strengthen regional stability in the Middle East by dismantling Hamas in the south and changing the security situation in the north,” Galant stated.

Military analysts interpret the redeployment of troops from Gaza as a strategic preparation for opening a new front against Hezbollah along the Lebanon border.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) explained, “These adaptations aim to ensure effective planning and preparation for the continuation of operations in 2024. The IDF recognizes the need to plan ahead, anticipating additional tasks and warfare throughout the year.”
