(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has disclosed that Iran’s Islamic regime has transferred more than $150 million to the Hamas Palestinian terror organization, i24News reports. The disclosure is consistent with a 2021 report by the US State Department that Iran is the “leading state sponsor of terrorism.”

During a press briefing Tuesday evening, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the Iranian funds were being used to fortify Hamas’ military infrastructure underground in Gaza so as to continue fighting Israel. The war was triggered on Oct. 7 when Hamas terrorists breached the Gaza border with Israel, murdered 1,200 mostly civilian Israelis, and kidnapped around 240 more, including elderly women and small children.

According to Hagari, IDF soldiers in Gaza have found records of payments from Iran to Hamas between 2014 and 2020. IDF troops discovered bags filled with 20 million shekels in hundred-shekel bills designated for Hamas, and envelopes containing tens of thousands of dollars in cash designated for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

“This phenomenon is repeated,”Hagari said. “Large amounts of cash were kept in underground locations for the personal use of the leaders in Hamas. They invested the money in their personal survival, and that of their families, underground.”

Hagari has also announced that the IDF has notified 31 hostage families that their relatives are now dead. The bodies of the murdered hostages are being held by Hamas.
