(Worthy News) – The US House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bipartisan bill that aims to force the ruling Chinese Communist Party to cease its persecution, including forced organ harvesting, against China’s Falun Gong spiritual community, it imposes, NTD reports.

As part of its campaign to Sinicize China and enforce national atheism, the Chinese Communist Party in 1999 launched a campaign to eradicate the practice of Falun Gong, a discipline based on truthfulness, tolerance, and compassion and involving meditation and specific exercises. Vehemently opposed to the discipline, the CCP has relentlessly imprisoned and tortured the Falun Gong community, with forced organ harvesting featuring strongly in the campaign of persecution.

On June 25, the US House passed the bipartisan Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R. 4132) that had been introduced by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) with 18 co-sponsors, NTD reports. Calling for “an immediate end” to China’s persecution of Falun Gong followers, the bill passed with a voice vote and now heads to the US Senate for approval.

“Forced organ harvesting—a form of mass murder—this is something [like what we saw with] Josef Mengele, but it’s happening today,” Rep. Perry said in a statement on the House floor Monday. “In China, if you’ve got the money, there is no waiting list for you to get an organ. … There’s a ready supply of these organs,” Perry said.

The newly passed bill represents the “first binding commitment by Congress to take strong legal action against the persecution and forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong, making Falun Gong the centerpiece of legislation—an action long overdue after 25 years,” Perry added.
