(Worthy News) – President Trump said Thursday that the U.S. expects to hear from Moscow this week regarding his administration’s proposed ceasefire plan for the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“We’re going to be hearing from them … very shortly actually, and we’ll see,” Mr. Trump said during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the Oval Office. “We want the death and the killing to stop.”

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff were in Paris, holding talks with Ukrainian and European officials at a summit focused on the conflict. Trump and his team have been pushing for a ceasefire agreement, though Russia has yet to show signs of accepting the proposal.

In a notable shift from earlier rhetoric, Mr. Trump said he does not hold Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responsible for the war.

“I don’t hold Zelenskyy responsible, but I’m not exactly thrilled with the fact that that war started,” he said. “I’m not happy with him or anybody involved. You can blame the man who was sitting here in this seat, [former President] Biden. He didn’t know what the h–l was going on.”
