Trump Rejects Pride Proclamation as Republicans Move to Reclaim June as ‘Family Month’

(Worthy News) – In a clear departure from the progressive movement, President Donald Trump’s White House confirmed Tuesday there will be no proclamation recognizing June as “Pride Month.” Instead, a growing coalition of conservative lawmakers is working to reclaim June for traditional values by introducing a resolution to officially designate it as “Family Month.”

“There are no plans for a proclamation for the month of June,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “But I can tell you the president is proud to be a president for all Americans, regardless of race, religion, or creed.”

The announcement underscores a broader effort by conservatives to push back against what they describe as the radical LGBTQ agenda, which has increasingly dominated cultural, corporate, and educational institutions each June.

Leading the charge is Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.), who on Tuesday introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives declaring June as “Family Month” — an effort to return national focus to the foundational role of faith, family, and moral order in American life. Miller’s resolution is supported by prominent parental rights and pro-family organizations including Moms for America, Family Research Council, Eagle Forum, and others.

“The American family is under relentless attack from a radical leftist agenda that seeks to erase truth, redefine marriage, and confuse our children,” Miller told The Daily Wire. “By recognizing June as Family Month, we reject the lie of ‘Pride’ and instead honor God’s timeless and perfect design.”

The resolution highlights the biblical and traditional view of the family, stating that mothers and fathers play a “crucial and irreplaceable role” in raising children and that the best environment for children is a home with a married mother and father. It also calls out harmful government policies that penalize marriage and incentivize cohabitation, contributing to record-low birth rates and the erosion of stable homes.

Since the Clinton administration first declared June “Pride Month” in 1999, and with Democrats like Barack Obama and Joe Biden expanding its scope, Americans have been subjected to increasingly aggressive LGBT messaging, often at the expense of those who hold to Judeo-Christian values. Miller’s resolution argues that this cultural saturation has “denigrated the nuclear family” while traditional Americans are “disparaged” for upholding biblical truths.

It also draws a line between the collapse of the family and rising social crises — citing increased crime, drug addiction, and moral confusion — and quotes John Adams: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

In lockstep with these principles, the Trump administration has taken bold action to protect children and families. The president has signed executive orders banning gender-transition procedures on minors, blocking biological males from women’s sports, and removing sexualized content from schools — all policies supported by parents across the political spectrum.

As June unfolds, conservatives are making clear that they will no longer cede cultural ground. Instead, they are standing for faith, family, and truth — the pillars upon which America was built.
