Khamenei Rejects U.S. Nuclear Proposal as Trump’s Hardline Stance Gains Overwhelming Support

TEHRAN (Worthy News) — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected a revised U.S. proposal to limit and eventually end uranium enrichment in the country, declaring it a direct affront to Iran’s sovereignty and independence. The rejection throws U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations into renewed crisis, as the Trump administration considers its next move.

In a televised speech Wednesday, Khamenei denounced the latest U.S. offer as “100% against our interests,” saying the proposal violates Iran’s “can do spirit” and longstanding policy of nuclear self-reliance. “If we do not have enrichment, then we should extend our hand [begging] to the U.S.,” he said. “The rude and arrogant leaders of America repeatedly demand that we should not have a nuclear program. Who are you to decide?”

The comments follow a proposal submitted last week by President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, which would allow Iran to temporarily enrich small amounts of uranium at a monitored above-ground site. In exchange, Iran would be required to shut down its underground enrichment facilities at Natanz and Fordow and fully cease enrichment once a regional consortium becomes operational.

Khamenei’s comments appear to make Iran’s formal rejection of the deal a near certainty. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that Iran is drafting a response, and a senior Tehran diplomat told Reuters the reply would likely amount to a “no.”

Amid rising tensions, a new Rasmussen Reports national survey shows overwhelming support among U.S. voters for President Trump’s uncompromising position on Iran’s nuclear ambitions. According to the poll conducted May 27-29, 84% of likely voters agree that Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, including 63% who “strongly agree.” Only 9% disagreed with the statement.

President Trump stated his red line on uranium enrichment: “Under our potential agreement — WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ENRICHMENT OF URANIUM!” he posted on Truth Social.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the polling data, saying in a statement Tuesday, “President Trump understands what too many in the international community ignore — that a nuclear Iran is an existential threat not only to Israel, but to the entire world. The Jewish state will never allow Iran to obtain the means to destroy us.”

Meanwhile, European diplomats in Vienna are preparing to advance a resolution at next week’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board meeting, declaring Iran in noncompliance with its nuclear safeguards. The move comes after the U.N. watchdog circulated a damning report detailing Iran’s continued stalling of a six-year-old probe into undeclared nuclear materials.

Should the resolution pass, it could trigger a snapback of international sanctions, heightening the risk of direct confrontation. Iran has warned that it will withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and expel inspectors if such action is taken.

As tensions mount, Trump’s administration is doubling down on its “maximum pressure” campaign, and Israeli leaders have reiterated they are prepared to act unilaterally should Iran move closer to weaponization. With diplomacy on the brink and military options back on the table, the standoff over Iran’s nuclear future is entering a volatile new phase.

PROPHECTICAL SIGNIFICANCE

We’re approaching a significant historical milestone: the anniversary of Israel’s daring 1981 airstrike on Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor, known as Operation Opera or Operation Babylon, carried out on June 7, 1981. Remarkably, this date closely aligns with another monumental event in Israeli history — the liberation of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War, which began on June 5, 1967, and saw Israeli forces recapture the Old City by June 7.

For many prophecy watchers, this convergence of dates is more than a historical coincidence — it is prophetic in nature. In biblical patterns, anniversaries often mark moments of divine intervention or turning points. Just as Israel acted preemptively in 1981 to prevent a hostile regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, and in 1967 reclaimed its ancient capital, some believe the first week of June could again hold significance for Israel and the region.

With tensions escalating across the Middle East — from Iran’s expanding nuclear program to increasing hostility on Israel’s northern and southern borders — many are watching this timeframe closely. The alignment of past military victories and preventative actions with the current geopolitical climate is prompting renewed discussion about divine patterns, national destiny, and prophetic fulfillment.
