Christians assaulted while watching ‘Jesus’ film near former Bin Laden Safe House

ABBOTTABAD, PAKISTAN (Worthy News)– Christians watching a movie depicting the life of Christ were attacked by a mob of Muslims in a park near where Osama bin Laden was killed.

During the August 12 assault on the film goers, the projector was smashed before police intervened, yet they made no arrests.

A week before the attack, a local Catholic priest was interrogated for visiting the site of the May raid that killed the al-Qaida leader.

According to Father Akram Javed Gill of St. Peter Canisius Church, he and a friend went up to rooftop overlooking the compound.

“I learnt a lot from that experience,” said Gill. “Christians cannot afford to get involved in risky situations, especially after the bin Laden episode.”

The Archbishop of Lahore, Emeritus Lawrence Saldanha, warned church goers to be more careful in public.

Only three Catholics live in the Bilal town where bin Laden was assasinated.
