Another Pakistani Woman is Charged with Blasphemy

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (Worthy News)– A registered society that provides legal assistance to persecuted Christians in Pakistan is calling for prayer for yet another Pakistani woman arrested under that nation’s notorious blasphemy laws.

The Voice is appealing on behalf of Shamim Bibi who was arrested under Section 295 B and C on March 13 after a complaint by only one Muslim who accused her of defiling the name of the Prophet Mohammad.

Voice Attorney Anneqa Maria Anthony said Section 295 C doesn’t require any evidence to legally prove blasphemy.

The Voice is supporting the Bibi’s both legally and financially.

Bail was filed March March 17 — Bibi has a 3-month old daughter who continually cries in lockup — and a hearing date was scheduled in the court of Additional Sessions.
