WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said federal investigators spent approximately eight months locating Dr. Anthony Fauci’s private journals, which Kennedy claimed had been scattered across 11 separate government servers.

“It took us about eight months to dig these out of 11 separate servers, where they had been sequestered and secreted,” Kennedy said Monday during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

Kennedy said the unusual manner in which the documents were stored raises broader questions about transparency inside the federal health bureaucracy and whether officials attempted to make the records difficult for investigators or the public to locate.

The journals, comprising more than 1,000 pages of near-daily entries, were released by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. They cover the period from December 2019 through December 2022, when Fauci retired after nearly four decades as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Paul released the records ahead of Fauci’s scheduled appearance Wednesday before the Senate committee, where the former government health official is expected to face questions about the origins of COVID-19, taxpayer-funded research in China, government recordkeeping and potential contradictions between his private observations and public statements.

The senator said Fauci’s private writings show that top scientists raised concerns in early 2020 that certain features of the coronavirus appeared unusual and could have been engineered. Paul argues that Fauci later publicly dismissed the laboratory-origin theory with far greater certainty than his diary entries supported. Fauci has repeatedly denied concealing information about the pandemic’s origins or misleading Congress.

One January 2020 entry said several scientists participating in a conference call believed aspects of the virus might not have developed naturally. Fauci also wrote that the Wuhan seafood market was likely an “amplifier” of the outbreak rather than its original source, while continuing to believe an animal-to-human transmission remained possible.

The records also renewed scrutiny of Fauci’s relationship with former senior adviser David Morens, who was indicted earlier this year for allegedly concealing federal records connected to COVID-19 research grants. Diary entries reportedly document private discussions between Fauci and Morens after Fauci previously testified that he had little knowledge of Morens’ alleged efforts to communicate outside official government channels.

Kennedy accused Fauci of damaging public confidence in federal health agencies by projecting certainty while privately confronting unresolved scientific questions. He also criticized diary entries showing Fauci closely tracking his media appearances and growing celebrity during the pandemic.

In one May 2020 entry, Fauci described his “national and international fame” as “explosive and really unimaginable.” Other entries recorded intense press interest, celebrity encounters and an invitation to appear on “Dancing with the Stars” as the nation struggled through widespread deaths, lockdowns and economic disruption.

The diaries also reveal Fauci’s sharp private criticism of President Donald Trump, whom he described using a series of disparaging terms as their relationship deteriorated over pandemic restrictions, reopening the economy, masking and possible COVID treatments.

Fauci’s defenders argue that the diaries reflect the private frustrations of a public official navigating an unprecedented crisis rather than evidence of wrongdoing. They also note that scientists continue to dispute the virus’s origin. While many researchers favor natural transmission, the FBI has assessed that COVID-19 most likely resulted from a laboratory incident, and the CIA later said the lab-origin theory was more likely, though with low confidence.

Kennedy said the public deserves a full accounting of how pandemic policies were developed, how evidence was handled and whether federal officials complied with transparency and public-record laws.

The controversy now places Fauci’s own words at the center of a renewed congressional investigation into one of the most consequential government responses in modern American history.
