World Vision Reverses, Recovers from Gay Policy Shift

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News)– World Vision’s decision to allow same-sex marriages for its own employees was short-lived after its supporters threatened to withhold any future donations, according to Religion News Service.

Since the same-sex policy change and subsequent reversal, the organization lost about one percent of its donor base, so World Vision is now asking its remaining staff — as former Google employees Jacquelline Fuller and John Park have left — to affirm that marriage is only between a man and a woman.

However, the policy changes created confusion for the organization’s international affiliates even though those changes only applied to World Vision’s U.S. employees; some affiliates even took measures to distance themselves from World Vision’s same-sex agenda, which in parts of Asia, Africa and South America could be considered unbiblical.

As a humanitarian relief group, all World Vision employees have to attend church, affirm to a statement of religious faith — such as the Apostles’ Creed — and sign onto a policy of personal conduct that includes abstinence outside of marriage.
