Ukrainian Ends Cease-Fire, Launches Military Operation Against Separatists (Video)

KIEV, UKRAINE (Worthy News)– Ukrainian forces launched new military operations against pro-Russian separatists, hours after the expiration of a unilateral cease-fire.

Shortly after a four-way conference call with European leaders and Russian President Vladimir Putin, newly elected Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko blamed the separatists for failing to keep the truce and decided to take military action against the separatists.

In a nationally televised address, Poroshenko said this was his decision as a “We will attack and free our lands. The decision not to continue the ceasefire is our answer to terrorists, rebels, and murderers,” and all those who are “paralyzing the economy of the region.”

Rebel bases and strongholds came under attack from aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian officials said.
