United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) Europe Calls Another Day of Prayer and Fasting

April 10, 2001

(STOKE-ON-TRENT, UK (ANS) – UCB Europe has called for a day or prayer and fasting on Sunday April 22 from its over three hundred thousand supporters across the UK and Ireland.

Prior to the call on April 4 to Prime Minister Tony Blair in the British House of Commons by the Rev. Ian Paisley in which he requested that the nation be called to prayer during this time of crisis, UCB had already taken the initiative and contacted their supporters, inviting them to join with their staff to fast and pray for the nations.

The first day of prayer and fasting was held on March 24 at UCB Europe’s headquarters in Stoke on Trent where UCB, in conjunction with many Intercessory Ministries from around the UK, congregated to pray. Over one hundred intercessors were present, praying fervently with thousands nationwide for an open door of opportunity to allow national Christian broadcasting.

This second day of prayer on Sunday 22nd April is entitled, “Thy Kingdom Come” and is calling Christians around the country to fast and pray specifically for two issues:

A. That God will begin to pour out His Spirit in Revival Power in 2001

B. That God will also show us the way forward to allow UCB to broadcast nationally within the UK and Ireland

Ian Mackie, UCB’s Managing Director said, “Our desire is to raise the spiritual temperature throughout our nations, but it will only happen as together we actively participate in God’s purposes, and that begins with prayer”.

UCB are inviting Christians from around the nation to join with them in this day of prayer as they congregate together in their churches and homes.

Mackie concluded by saying, “Let’s not forget the farmers and small businesses during this Sunday of prayer, our nations are in a desperate state with over one million animals slaughtered or earmarked for slaughter. We know God has the power to intervene in the affairs of men and bring this epidemic to an end. The most effective contribution Christians can make during this time of crisis is to pray!”
