Uzbekistan: Christians fined, Bibles seized
By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent
(Worthy News) – An Uzbek court has fined 10 Christians for meeting without the permission of the Uzbekistan state.
According to Barnabas Aid, the Karshi Criminal Court in Kashkadarya fined three Christians 50 times Uzbekistan’s minimum monthly wage and the remaining seven more than 30 times that wage for illegally storing religious literature.
The court also ordered that church songbooks as well as their personal Bibles be destroyed.
The Christians had been meeting without the required state registration when authorities first raided their meeting in April.
