Iranian Christian flees country

(Worthy News) – An Iranian convert to Christianity who was arrested during a raid of a fellowship gathering in the city of Karaj on Aug. 7 has decided to take the “advice” of his Revolutionary Guard interrogators and leave Iran.
According to Barnabas Aid, Esmaeil Falahati’s arrest may represent a new tactic of the Islamic Republic to stem the spread of Christianity by simply forcing Iranian Christians to flee the country.
According to Falahati, the police who arrested him already possessed pre-signed and stamped warrants, so the officers just had to add his name to take Falahati into custody and search his home.
“They took me to my house around 10 p.m.,” said Falahati. “I had some Bibles and Christian books at home. The authorities took away all the books as well as my computer and some other personal belongings.”
Only recognised Christian minorities are allowed to meet together for fellowship in Iran, but converts from Islam are often targeted by the authorities and are often imprisoned.
