Netanyahu: America and Israel have ‘decided to speed up work’ on mutual defense pact

(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met in Lisbon, Portugal Wednesday to discuss a mutual defense treaty between the US and Israel.

Netanyahu said the pact, originally proposed by the Jewish Institute for National Security of America and promulgated by American senator Lindsey Graham, would ensure total freedom to the IDF, a concern of rival Benny Gantz.

The Israeli premier called it “one of our important goals for the coming months” and guaranteed “total freedom of action for the US” as well.

In addition to Israeli security, the leaders also discussed water technology that has been developed in Israel and the possibility of exporting it to Africa.
