(Worthy News) – A Christian community in Karnataka state, India was prevented from building a church on December 4 and later deprived of drinking water when they went to police, with members now fearing to celebrate Christmas in their town.

The Christians were first assaulted while clearing the land for their project by a mob of Hindu radicals, who later severed their supply of drinkable water, demanding they recant their faith to regain access.

“All of the 25 Christian families were present at the police station to lodge a complaint, however, the police told us that Christians cannot hold any meetings in the village,” Pastor Raja Bhovi told International Christian Concern, adding that his flock would be celebrating the holiday 19 miles away in Arsikare.

International Christian Concern documented 6 anti-Christian incidents in India in just one week in December, which included the forced closure of a 600-member church.
