US strikes kill 12 Iran-backed soldiers in Syria and Iraq

(Worthy News) – 12 Iran-backed fighters were killed in Iraq and Syria Sunday, as the US retaliated for a Friday strike by Iran proxies that left 4 American servicemen wounded and killed a military contractor.
The US said Kataeb Hezbollah, or the Hezbollah Brigade, sponsored by Iran had been responsible for several attacks on American assets in Iraq over the last few months.
“In response to repeated Kata’ib Hizbollah attacks on Iraqi bases that host Operation Inherent Resolve coalition forces, US forces have conducted precision defensive strikes against five KH facilities in Iraq and Syria that will degrade KH’s ability to conduct future attacks against OIR coalition forces,” Assistant to the Secretary of Defense Jonathan Hoffman said.
Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) is the name for the US mission against ISIS, which has touched Iranian interference in Shi’ite majority Iraq in recent months.
