Protests in Iran ignite following Ukrainian jet gaffe
by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent
(Worthy News) – Protests in Iran continued for a third day on Monday after the regime admitted over the weekend to accidentally downing a Ukrainian passenger jet carrying 176 people, killing everyone on board.
Students chanted “clerics get lost!” outside universities in Tehran and Isfahan as riot police were deployed, President Trump congratulating demonstrators for a video in which students can be seen avoiding stepping on American and Israeli flags.
“I couldn’t care less if they negotiate. Will be totally up to them but, no nuclear weapons and ‘don’t kill your protesters,” Trump tweeted in English and Farsi to show solidarity with protestors.
Iran is thought to have over three million believers who operate mostly underground, since converting from Islam to Christianity carries the death penalty in the Islamic Republic.
