(Worthy News) – North Korea threatened Monday to dump a whopping 12 million propaganda leaflets on South Korea as “retaliatory punishment” for materials and Bibles it received from activists.

“Publishing and printing institutions at all levels in the capital city have turned out 12 mullion leaflets. [They are] of all kinds reflective of the wrath and hatred of the people from all walks of life,” added North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency.

The report claimed that “various equipment and means of distributing leaflets,” including more than 3,000 balloons, have been prepared.

It remained unclear whether North Korea wanted also to use drones or other unmanned aircraft to send the leaflets weather permitting. The publications “outspokenly disclose and slam the criminal acts of the [S]outh Korean authorities,” warned the agency report.

Earlier the sister of North Korea’s ruler Kim Jong Un, expressed outrage over balloons carrying Bibles or messages criticizing the autocratic leadership.

MINISTERS ANGRY

South Korean officials said Monday their response would depend on the method North Korea uses to spread its leaflets. South Korea’s government has since been cracking down on efforts to get Bibles into North Korea, Worthy News learned over the weekend.

But Pyongyang made clear that not enough had been done to ensure that unwanted material reaches North Korea, where Christians face persecution. Recently South Korea’s unification minister resigned amid tensions with the North.

The isolated state’s diplomatic relations with Washington and Seoul have stalled since a summit last year between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ended without an agreement on denuclearization and sanctions relief.
