Following the November 3 election, at least 15 new pro-life Republican congresswomen will enter the House of Representatives, CNS News reports. The newcomers will join the 11 incumbent congresswomen who have been re-elected.

Among the newly elected representatives is Telemundo anchor Maria Elvira Salazar, who flipped Florida’s 27th U.S. House District, CNS News reports. Award-winning journalist Salazar has stated she “has resolved to use her voice to speak up for the unborn and their families in Congress.”

There is also Mary Miller, who was elected to Illinois’ 15th U.S. House District. Miller has said she intends to uphold the Hyde Amendment that blocks tax monies from being used to fund abortion, CNS New said. Miller also plans to support efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.

Another example is Michelle Fishbach, who has just been to represent Minnesota’s Seventh District. Fishbach was the first woman to serve as President of the Minnesota Senate. Expressing her pro-life views, Fishbach has stated: “we must protect the unborn, who have the fundamental right to life, and defend the sanctity of innocent human life at all stages.”

Moreover, CNS News points out, even more, pro-life women could soon be joining Congress, as not all races have been finalized yet.
