A Christian group is providing urgent relief to those affected by devastating typhoons in the Philippines, CBN News reports. Aid workers from Operation Blessing, an international Christian humanitarian organization, are currently giving disaster relief to residents in the Bicol and Metro Manila regions of the country.

CBN News reports that thousands of people lost their homes when typhoons smashed into their hard-to-reach town in the Bicol region. Among those rendered homeless is Rosalinda Lucero, who also lost her livelihood. “Our abaca crops and the coconuts are all gone. Where will we get food? Every time I see a helicopter I wave and shout for help but they don’t see me,” Rosalinda told CBN News.

Dr. Sheila Aranas, Programs Director of Operation Blessing Philippines, told CBN News: “We want to let [the people of the Philippines] know that they are not forgotten. They are not left behind. Operation Blessing had a heart to come here to let them know that we love them. Jesus loves them.”

In cooperation with the military and local government Operation Blessing sent aid workers bearing food and hygiene kits to Rosalinda’s remote village where they also prayed for residents.

Teams of Operation Blessing workers will also be distributing food, mats, hygiene kits, and drinking water to typhoon survivors in the Metro Manila area, CBN News reports.
