(Worthy News) – The Citizens Against Enforced Disappearances (CAGED) organization is calling on the Malaysian government to release the results of a public inquiry into the disappearance of Pastor Raymond Koh, who was abducted in broad daylight in February 2017, International Christian Concern reports. It is believed the pastor was disappeared for involvement in matters against Islam.

In 2019 the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia’s (Suhakam) public inquiry task force determined unanimously that the Royal Malaysia Police Special Branch was responsible for the abductions and disappearances of Pastor Koh in 2017, and of activist Amri Che Mat in 2016. However, two years on, the inquiry report has still not been made public, ICC reports.

In a statement on April 2, CAGED said the task force report ought to be released, given the unanimous finding that corrupt police officers were behind the kidnappings.

The abductions of Koh and Mat were carried out in a similar way, ICC notes. In each case, several cars were used to ambush and block the man, who was then taken away and never heard from again.

The victims’ families are suing the Malaysian government in an effort to find out the truth.
