(Worthy News) – German police say four people have been killed at a clinic in the eastern city of Potsdam, and a woman was detained. At least one person was seriously injured, German media reported.

The suspect, a 51-year-old woman, was reportedly detained after four people were killed in the Oberlin Clinic in Potsdam late on Wednesday.

The motives for the apparent crime were not immediately clear, reported Germany’s broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW). Police said the deaths were caused by “violence,” without providing more details.

The Oberlin Clinic is a specialist center for orthopedic disorders. Mass-circulation Bild daily said the crime happened at the facility’s palliative station.

The reported killings put a nation on edge following several terror attacks in recent years. Germany, the European Union’s largest economy, is also recovering from the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions.
