(Worthy News) – Pro-life organizations in America have called for a National Day of Repentance over abortion on December 1, the day on which the US Supreme Court hears opening arguments in a legal challenge to Mississippi’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks, CNS reports.

The Justice Foundation and other numerous other pro-life groups have called for worldwide prayer against abortion, and have set up a website called the National Day of Repentance to facilitate their intercession efforts, CNS said. While the National Day is an opportunity for believers around the world to pray in unity and repentance at home, there are also prayer events in Washington DC being planned, that intercessors can join.

“As our nation looks on at the proceedings at the Supreme Court and the landmark abortion case of Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health, unity among those who advocate for life is at an all-time high,” the National Day of Repentance website statement reads.

“We come before our Father in humility and repentance on this solemn day, December 1st, the day of the oral arguments on this Supreme Court case,” the website statement attests. “It will not only affect the state of life in the United States, it will affect pro-life policies across the globe.”

If the Supreme Court decides the Mississippi law is constitutional, it would overturn the 1973 landmark case of Roe v. Wade, which allows abortion before viability.
