Nigeria: Four children among seven Christians murdered

(Worthy News) – As the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria continues, four children were among seven Christians murdered by suspected Fulani jihadists in Nigeria’s Plateau state on Sunday, Morning Star News (MSN) reports. Nigeria ranked number one in the world last year for Christians murdered by Islamic terrorists on account of their faith.

Sunday’s killings took place during an attack on Danda Chigwi village in the Plateau’s Jos South County shortly after 7 pm, area resident Dagah Dung told MSN.

Rwang Tengwong, a local Christian youth leader with the Berom Youth Movement (BYM), identified the dead in a press statement as:Ruth Gyang Bot, 16; Chundung Pam Gyang, 9; Mercy James Gyang, 12; Benjamin Pam Gyang, 5; Pam Gyang Dawho, 59; Nvou Pam Gyang, 43; and Jah Dung Pam, 50. Tengwong added that a 40-year-old man and a 4-month-old baby, whose hand was cut off, were wounded in the attack, MSN reports. The latter two were being treated at Vom Christian Hospital, operated by the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN), MSN reports.

In a statement Monday, Dachung Bagos of Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives expressed frustration at the unending attacks on civilians in the state. “This incident has raised concerns over the readiness of security agencies to tackle once and for all the guerrilla style of killing which has been incessant in my constituency and Plateau state,” Bagos said.

“Intelligence reports have it that the attackers had sent signals before now, and no action was taken on the part of the security agencies to curtail it; this is sad. I am angry and enraged by the daily killing within and around my constituency.”
