(Worthy News) – Continuing its violent attacks on Christian civilians, the ‘Tatmadaw’ Burmese military junta bombed a Baptist seminary in Kachin state last week, injuring four men in their dormitory, Christian Headlines (CH) reports.

Following its February 2021 military coup, the Burmese army has persistently attacked predominantly Christian Christian states, including Kachin State, Karen State, and Shan State.

On November 3, the Burmese army bombed Theological Seminary in the Kutkai area of Kachin state, CH reports.

In a statement about the attack, Gina Goh of International Christian Concern said: “The attack against this Kachin Bible school was certainly not an accident. Instead, the Tatmadaw deliberately targeted a Christian facility knowing how important the faith is to Kachin people. This despicable junta regime should not be tolerated any further by the international community and needs to be removed at once.”

In a statement to 72 Media, a local resident attested: “They (the military) hate our Kachin people so much. This is why we are being targeted and attacked. This looks like a planned shooting. My heart hurts so much. Since this happened, we Kachin people must be careful.”

The four students wounded by shrapnel during the attack on the Kachin Theological Seminary have been named as: Myitung Doi La, 24; Ndau Awng San, 27; Nhkum Sut Ring Awng, 21; and Sumlut Brang San, 22, CH reports.

Myanmar ranks 12th on the US Open Doors World Watch List 2022 of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted.
