Classified Documents Found At Former US Vice President Pence’s Home

WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – Classified documents have been found at former U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence’s home in the latest secret paper discovery, his representative confirmed, adding to political tensions.

Greg Jacob, Pence’s representative for dealing with records related to the presidency, wrote in a letter to the National Archives that the material was “inadvertently boxed and transported” to Pence’s home at the end of President Donald J. Trump’s administration

The letter, dated January 18, 2023, and seen by reporters, said that Pence was unaware of the existence of the documents. It stressed that he took the handling of classified materials seriously and wanted to help.

Yet the discovery announced Tuesday comes shortly after secret documents were found at U.S. President Joe Biden’s Delaware home, a corvette in his home garage, and his office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington from the time he was Vice President.

Last year FBI agents raided former President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago in Florida for suspected classified documents.

Trump asked on social media why Biden’s home hadn’t been raided.

Pence already hired an outside lawyer after classified documents were found in recent days at the residence and the former private office of President Biden.

Jacob wrote that the lawyer could not specify anything more about the documents because the lawyer stopped looking once it was clear the documents had classified markings.

Yet the disclosures have added to more questions about how classified material is handled at the top levels of government.

Amid mounting political pressure from both Democrats and Republicans, Biden and Trump are both subjects of special counsel investigations into how they stored the nation’s top secrets.
